A life dedicated to meditation
Sadguru spent thirty-two years in deep tapasya at Yeola in Nashik district, in very austere conditions — meditation supported by yoga, fasting and a minimal diet. For Him, meditation is not an escape from the world but the way every person can discover the truth already within.
Walking among the people
He travelled on foot through Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. His guidance was never limited by caste, religion, language or social status — everyone was welcome on the inward journey.
From Janglidas Maharaj to Atma Malik Mauli
Out of devotion to Sadguru Jangali Maharaj, whose samadhi is in Pune, He was first known as Janglidas Maharaj — "the servant of Jangali Maharaj". As His teaching turned to the Atma within every seeker, He came to be revered as Sadguru Atma Malik Mauli. Both names belong to the same Master.
The meaning of "Atma Malik"
The mission's earlier greeting was "Om Gurudev". Sadguru changed it to "Atma Malik" — the Atma is the Master — reminding every seeker that the goal is to realize the divine presence within one's own heart.
A teacher by example
The inward journey cannot be understood through words alone. His silence became His discourse, His discipline His message and His life His scripture.
A vision beyond meditation
Sadguru also cared for future generations. Under His guidance, the mission built educational institutions inspired by Gurukul values — including this Educational & Sports Complex — along with ashrams, meditation centres, publications and outreach programmes.
